Angels Sing
The Scripture says, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.”
My number one priority, and I believe it should be yours, is that Jesus is the Lord over your life.
That Jesus is the Lord over your home.
That Jesus is the Lord over your body, over your finances. Because if Jesus can be over your life, Satan will be under your feet.
But as long as anything remains outside the lordship of Jesus, you will never get Satan under your feet in those areas of your life.
I want the Lord to cover me. I want His name to cover me. I want His blood to cover me. I want His Spirit to cover me.
I want to be undercover.
I want the Lord to be over my life.
Scripture Reading: Job 38:4-7 (KJV)
The Lord is reasoning with Job toward the end of his trial. After many voices had spoken into Job’s situation, finally the Lord spoke to Job out of the whirlwind and said:
“Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth?
Declare, if thou hast understanding.
Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest?
Or who hath stretched the line upon it?
Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened?
Or who laid the corner stone thereof;
When the morning stars sang together,
And all the sons of God shouted for joy?”
Angels Sing
In this season, we celebrate the miracle of the incarnation—God manifesting in flesh. When the Lord could find no intercessor and no one to stand in the gap, He reached down with His own arm to save humanity. He came in the likeness of sinful flesh that He might condemn sin in the flesh.
At the moment of creation, when the foundations of the earth were laid, the morning stars sang together, and the sons of God shouted for joy. We see a similar manifestation at the birth of God’s salvation for mankind.
The Heavenly Announcement (Luke 2:8-14 KJV)
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, good will toward men.
As it was at creation, so it was at the birth of Jesus: a glorious declaration from the heavenly hosts as they worshiped God.
The Eternal Song of Heaven
The Bible occasionally pulls back the curtain to reveal the worship of the eternal realm. Angels cry to one another, “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.” They cease not day and night saying, “Holy, holy, holy.”
This ceaseless worship began when time itself was established: “the evening and the morning were the first day.” From the foundation of creation, the soundtrack of heaven has been “Holy, holy, holy.”
The New Song of the Redeemed
Revelation 5:9-10 (KJV)
And they sung a new song, saying,
Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof:
for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood
out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
Revelation 14:1-3 (KJV)
And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads.
And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps:
And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
This new song belongs only to the redeemed. The angels cannot sing it, for they have never been lost and then found, never tasted deliverance from sin.
Our Greater Calling
Angels are ministering spirits sent to serve those who shall inherit salvation. Throughout Scripture, they appear—at the garden gate, at the announcement of Christ’s birth, at His resurrection, and throughout the book of Acts.
Yet after Acts chapter 2, the Lord has a preferred agent for His purposes: Spirit-filled believers. The Lord will use an angel if He must, but He desires to use you and me to bring the message, healing, deliverance, and the word of God.
Jesus said, “These signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils.”
When we bring every area of our lives under the lordship of Jesus—under His blood, under His name, under His Spirit—we receive authority to resist the devil, and he must flee.
Conclusion: You Have a Song the Angels Cannot Sing
The angels have their song, but you have a song they can never sing. You have a testimony of redemption that they have never experienced. You were lost in sin, and Jesus took you in. A light from heaven filled your soul. You have been delivered from darkness, addiction, and despair.
The Lord is still writing your story. He is the Author and Finisher of our faith. The pen is still in His hand.
Raise your praise today:
He has made a way where there was no way.
He has answered prayer.
He has brought healing.
He has given peace.
He will do it again.
Thank You, Lord, for the birth we celebrate.
Thank you for the strides you took.
Thank You for the blood You shed.
Thank You for the death You defeated.
Thank You for the Holy Ghost You poured out.
