Did God Create Sin?
I read in a discussion group where someone was stating and emphatically arguing a point that I knew on it's face off wrong.
"God is the author of sin."
I read that and thought, wow. This is wrong on so many levels.
God created the mechanism of free will and gave them the choice. He did give us the ability to sin, that does not equal him creating sin.Ford does not create wrecks.Ford does create mechanical cars that have wrecks. Not the same thing.
God is not the Author of Sin.
God is not the author of confusion either.Sin is what was done and is done with what God gave us.We choose to disobey, dishonor, doubt the Word of God.That is sin.So mankind took what God made and sinned.
God made the poppy.God did not harvest, process, and purify the poppy to make heroin.Humanity did that with what God made.
It is interesting how people can get so in a box of logic they could declare God made sin. This is another example of what gives us Calvinism.
Philosophizing to state what the Bible does not state, so often we conclude what the bible never stated or concluded. Beware, it's very easy to craft false doctrine and conclusion.
Errors that are created as a reaction to another error is where most false doctrine comes from that we encounter today. In my opinion what gave us the excesses of Calvinism was an over-correction of catholicism.
A catholic is never saved. IN fact, there is a doctrine in Catholicism called Purgatory. This is a middle place between heaven and hell that one who was not a good catholic can be delivered from if the family will pray or pay someone to pray for them to be out of purgatory and delivered into heaven.
Purgatory is created completely outside of scripture. My point, this kind of error gave us Calvinism.
I get the need to argue against Calvinism. It is from the root to the uttermost petal false doctrine.
However to state that God is the author of sin is on it's face a falsity.
Sin is the byproduct of disobedient, willful, and doubting souls.
Beware lest you take what God has give you and create sin from it.
