From Presbyterian Minister to Pentecostal Experience
From Presbyterian Minister to Pentecostal Experience
A video of the testimony. Additional information was shared by the pastor.
On a recent visit to a local church in Columbus, Ohio, a minister was approached by a congregation member. She shared her testimony with him. She had been a presbyterian pastor for years. Over time the church drifted further and further away from what she knew.
Like the proverbial frog in boiling water, she had an awakening to the condition of the church she was in one day.
The church began allowing Wiccan symbols to be placed on the communion table next to the implements of the Lord’s supper.
She said to herself, “I have got to find a church that still worships Jesus Christ.”
She began a quest to find a church that still preached about Jesus.
In her search, the Lord led her to an apostolic church in her town. After attending for a season, in one service she attended the pastor was preaching on the blessings and power of baptism in water in the name of Jesus Christ. She got under conviction, and she saw her need to be baptized and made plans to be baptized.
This is a big deal. Presbyterian practice sprinkling rather than baptism.
The Sunday came for her baptism, and she brought 20 friends and family to witness her baptism.
She did not expect that she would speak in tongues. However, she received the Holy Ghost as she was baptized and came out of the water; she was praying and praising God in another language, speaking in tongues! Praise the Lord!
A few days after sharing this testimony with this minister, she called the pastor telling him what happened to her while on vacation.
She traveled to Jamaica for vacation. While there, she witnessed what she was experiencing to some people, and it sparked a desire in those who heard her.
These people hearing her had a deep desire to be baptized. The people asked her if she could baptize them since she was a minister.
She agreed, and she baptized three of them in the swimming pool at the resort. Two of them came up out of the water, speaking in tongues.
Her testimony was that as she was baptizing the people, she remembered what was said over her when she was baptized.
“Upon the profession of your faith and in obedience to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, I now baptize you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, and you will receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost.”
She just repeated those words and baptized the people in Jesus Name.
I have no doubt hundreds, thousands, and even millions of people like her are troubled by what is happening to their local churches and national denominations and are hungry for a return to the simple truth. I believe that in the quest to return to Biblical truth God is going to baptized them with the Holy Spirit of God!
God is going to do as the scripture declares, "In the last days sayeth God, I will pour out my spirit on all flesh!"
