like fire shut up in my bones
" ... his Word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay."Â Â Jeremiah 20:9Â
The Difference between a cold fire pit and a blazing hot fire pit is dependent on one central element.
Is there any wood to burn.I can walk out in my yard and see piles of ashes of past fires. However, the fire is long gone out.Notice what it does not say. It's like ashes in my bones.Too many times, we have warmed ourselves with memories of past fires. It's like a fire in my mind.  I close my eyes, and I see the sparks.  In my memories, I can remember the warmth.
However, I open my eyes, and I am cold, and the fire has gone out.
In the ministry of Jeremiah, he became weary with the opposition and reaction he received from the people he was sent to minister to. In his frustration and discouragement, he expresses his sentiment.
"Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his Word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay."  Jeremiah 20:9Â
"His WORD was is in my heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones."
Here is the clue. Â
The Word is the Wood to the Furnace of the Spirit.
You say your fire has gone out? You say you're facing opposition? You say your mind is weary from rejection?
Let's Put the Word in you. Â
If we allow the Word of God to get in our hearts, we will discover that unquenchable fire in our bones.
Faith that is a fire will often stir up a negative response from the comfortable and settled. However, it is essential for us to not to allow those with no fire to discourage us from pursuing and tending a fire in our soul.
Here is a reality, Our World, the Church World, has a Fire Hydrant in front of every church.
Every Move of God.Every spirit leading,Â
Someone is going to pull the fire alarm, and a brigade of sober souls will come to put the fire out.
Oh, the church world is all for Ashes.   They will spread ashes on your head. They will celebrate a fire in history and mark themselves with the ashes of an old flame. However, we are not of those who look back.We are an apostolic church that needs to be fire baptized.
The Holy Ghost is no doubt like wine! However, the Holy Ghost is more than wine.
The Baptism of Jesus was, With Holy Ghost and With Fire.
Our God is a consuming Fire.
Remember the story of Jesus going to the temple and cleaning it out?
"And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise. And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up."Â Â John 2:15-17
" Lord Jesus, I invite you and your zeal to come into my temple and lets a clean house.Every Herd of convenience, excuse, false exchange, false balance,Â
Jesus, look what he cleaned out.
Those that Sold Oxen and Changers of Money. The Sheep and the oxen, HE drove them out.He told those who were selling doves, get these out of here. Â
"make not my Father's house an house of merchandise."
The Kingdom of God… The Church… Your relationship with God is not based on a market exchange.
True Faith is not a transactional relationship."I give God this, God gives me this in return.
True Faith is about obedient, submissive, surrendered Faith.
We worship the Lord.We submit ourselves to the LordObedience is my worship.Faith is my worship.Submission is my worship.
It's not pulling levers. It's not buying favors.
It's me, complying with the covenant. I love him, I love others, I consider others, I seek to do my Father's will and please Him with my life.
The New Covenant is not a market place economy. Covenant is a Prayer Based Economy.
He's God. I pray to him.He's God. I worship.He's' God. I believe.He's God. I bring an offering.He's God. I pay my tithes.
You can not buy spiritual favor from God. As a minister, I cannot sell the favor of God. This is God's individual relationship with the individual. God is not a respecter of person, he respects submitted Faith.
Jesus was incensed that the Religious leaders had corrupted the House of God and made it a place of exchange and specifically a house of merchandise. Jesus declared, "My house shall be called a house of prayer."
This pursuit in His heart was demonstrated in the zeal He displayed in this radical action.
What followed this temple cleaning was those who had stayed away, came forward, and experienced a miracle.
"And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; he healed them." Matthew 21:14
It's about bringing and putting everything on the line.Jesus was not contradicting the need for those things, He was condemning the corruption of worship.
What happened when Jesus removed the barrier of market capitalism in the temple?
Matthew 2113 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of thieves.14 And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them.
Let me suggest your body is the temple of God.
Just as Jesus sought to cleanse the temple in Jerusalem, He needs you to clean the temple that lives in your house.
With zeal. To renounce false concepts, attitudes, and opinions about what is acceptable. To quit serving God with a transactional and traditional approach to His presence and pursue a daily conversation and relationship with Him.
Paul said this to Timothy, "Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands."  2 Timothy 1:6
We need to stir up the gift of God in us like a fire that needs to be stirred to spark back into a blazing fire.
I am reminded of a phrase in the narrative of Samson, ".. he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. "  Judges 16:20
This tells me that Samson had a known pathway to get the anointing, empowering, working of the Spirit of God to move upon him to fulfill the God-ordained purpose.
We need to stir up the gift and shake ourselves. Â
We need to put some wood in our fireplace, The Word of God is the wood, and tend and maintain a constant flame and fire for God in our daily life.
I believe it is in this setting we will experience the promise of a flowing, burning, working and moving of the Spirit of God in our lives.
That fire that would be shut up in our bones.
Lord Help it to be so in my life today.
I wish somebody's soul would catch on fire!
In Him, By Him, Through Him,Â

James 5:16Â
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
