“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,” Jude 20
One of the greatest opportunities God has given us is the invitation and access to the realm of the Holy Spirit.
In the letter to the believers in Rome and to those believers in your home,
“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Romans 8:26
I advise you to read the above text again. This verse is instructive and instructions that are preparatory and are the means that produce a result. Why do I say that?
Let’s read the next verse.
27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
When we pray in the Spirit, the Spirit prays through us and for us concerning the perfection of God in our lives, “The Will of God.”
When we do this, it produces what the next verse describes.
28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
The baptism of the Holy Spirit as described in the second chapter of Acts is more than just a monumental moment of spiritual euphoria.
The baptism of the Spirit ushers us into the Kingdom of God where the Spirit God fills, leads, empowers, and equips us for Kingdom purposes.
One of the holiest of purposes is in the glorious privilege of prayer. Prayer is one of the most important of all instruments in the inventory of a believer that God desires to utilize and work through us.
Listen, consider and be challenged with this admonition of Paul to each believer,
“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,” Ephesians 6:18&19
This challenge I am making to myself.
I hope every believer could hear this call of the Spirit to give ourselves to the kingdom purpose in praying fervently for the work of God. In our local church, our communities, and the work of God around the world.
“ For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.” 1 Corinthians 14:14-15
“Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints;” Romans 15:30-31
We all need to intentionally make ourselves available and enroll in this glorious privilege and responsibility to pray in the Spirit.
“For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ, Philippians 1:19
I am going to go pray, will you join me?
In Him, By Him, Through Him,
Scott A. Phillips
“The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit.” James 5:16-18

Thank you for a reminder, that in the spirit realm we have the answers waiting...
