Why so many people today are ungodly?

"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,..."

If you want to be blessed, be careful where you get your concepts and perspectives. 

Would you go to a dirty mud hole to get a glass of drinking water?

Would you look for good food in the dumpster behind a restaurant?

And yet, many people will consume vast quantities of commentary, thoughts, and perspectives from people who lack a foundation of God's word or a moral compass that seeks its true north in holiness.

I suggest we will be influenced by the music we listen to, the entertainment we consume, the books we read and those who we see as wise people to emulate.

For example. 

Joe Rogan is maybe one of the most popular Youtube personality. 

He is interesting, and he has an interesting guest who he talks to for two and three hours straight. Everyday.  

If one is not careful, listening to Joe, you might get to basing your opinions and perspective based on what Joe says.

He was recently paid 100 Million dollars for ten years. This tells you he is a Conversational Athlete. 

However, it would be unwise to adopt his "wisdom."

I assure you, you will not be blessed if you walk in the counsel of Joe Rogan. Nice Guy. Not Godly.

Do you want to be blessed? You better take some stock on the life of the person in whom you allow to influence you.

Look for Godly people. 

Seek out their counsel.

In our culture, one thing that has happened is young people go to college, and for four years, they are brainwashed by leftist, God-denying, and goodness-hating professors.

And then, these students start living their lives based on those world views.

The results? Look around you: politicians, business leaders, tech influencers.

Ungodly people.

eBay had executives from their company recently charged for sending malicious packages to people they did not like. Where did they ever get a mindset like that? UnGodly people influenced them.

Do you want to be Godly?

Sadly, too many Christians have had this same corrupting influence and though they think they are solidly Christian, many founding opinions and principles they picked up from outside the domain of God is mixed in and it produces sadness and brokenness and they are oblivious to why. One reason could be, They are walking in the wisdom of this world.

Listen to, follow after, and be influenced by the conversation of people that are shameless in their devotion to a Holy Righteous God.

Then you can walk in confidence, I will be blessed.

Christ died for the ungodly.  Christ died for Joe Rogan.  We should pray for Joe Rogan.  However, till he gets saved we need to be careful how we hear what he would say.

If you want to be blessed, you must not walk in his counsel. 

Psalms 1

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
